The China-Kunming/Laos-Vientiane Railway, also known as the "China-Laos International Railway Corridor" and abbreviated as the "China-Laos Railway," is an electrified railway connecting Kunming City in Yunnan Province, China, and Vientiane City in Laos. Built by China to Grade I national railway standards, it is the first transnational railway primarily invested and constructed by China, jointly operated, and directly connected to China's railway network. This is a "road of friendship" linking the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, traversing mountains and hills, running through China and Laos. This railway carries the hopes and dreams of a better, happier life for the people of both countries, enhances friendship between the Chinese and Lao people, and further promotes mutual understanding between the two nations.
